Custom designed RPT™ Golf Balls were developed specifically for the MLM2PRO™ Impact Vision camera. The camera recognizes the unique RPT™ print pattern and captures images at 240 fps for pro-level spin rate and spin axis measurements. It’s a partnership in precision engineering.
To ensure the Rapsodo MLM2PRO™ provides accurate measured spin rate and spin axis, strict tolerance standards are tested and monitored on the unique print pattern. Titleist ® RPT™ Pro V1 Golf balls must pass a quality assurance test to ensure the print pattern is within millimeters of the standard. Any ball that fails the test is automatically discarded from the production line.
Spin Axis - the axis that the ball spins on or the measure of the tilt of that axis. A positive Spin Axis means that it is tilted to the right (a slice or face for RH golfers). A negative Spin Axis means that is it tilted to the left (a draw or hook).
Spin Rate - A golf ball's spin rate -- refers to the speed that it spins on its axis while in flight. It is measured in revolutions per minute (rpm).
Yes, it is the same golf ball. The specialized print design on the exterior of the RPT golf ball is the only difference. The RPT pattern is printed under the clear coat of the golf ball for durability purposes.
No, currently Titleist Golf Balls with RPT are not included in the initial purchase of an MLM2PRO.

No, RPT golf balls are required to provide a spin axis and spin rate measurement.
RPT golf balls provide a precisely measured spin rate when paired with an MLM2PRO. Rapsodo Golf is currently working with Titleist to allow RCT golf balls to also display an accurate measured spin rate when used with an MLM. This feature is still being tested, but we hope to make it available soon.
Additionally, RPT golf balls (when paired with an MLM2PRO) also provide a spin axis measurement. The spin axis metrics will not be available on MLM units on account of the device’s design. This means every shot tracked by the MLM/RCT involve estimates of the curve and overall carry/side carry, Since the RPT golf ball provides both measured spin rate and spin axis, the metrics reported are extremely accurate for carry and curve.
An RPT™ Golf Ball is required to show measured spin numbers.
